West County Gloves Review Update

It’s not often I’ll do a second post on a product review but this time I simply have to tell you to go out and buy yourself a pair of these gloves. And while I poked fun at the “red” color in my first post, I can tell you I no longer care what color they are.

Let me tell you a few things that I think are important.

These gloves have become my go-to gloves. I wear them for any work in the garden or while driving the tractor -they have great gripping power. And they’re comfortable – they’ve stretched a bit and now fit my hands exactly, there’s no slipping on the inside of the gloves to create blisters either.

I did way too much work yesterday lifting 6×6 beams and shoveling dirt for raised beds along with digging out weeds and volunteer tree shoots, but I was wearing the gloves. And a good thing too because one part of this new garden was infested with wild raspberry canes. I never thought about it as I started digging and one recalcitrant cane decided it wanted to stay – I grabbed the darn cane and pulled it out. (I told you I wasn’t thinking) Only to realize that there was no familiar prickling sensation on my hand from grabbing a raspberry cane. So I did it again. :-) Sure enough, this West County gardening glove wasn’t penetrated by the thorns at all and there was no discomfort digging out raspberry canes and grabbing them to take to the brush pile. Painless. Wonderful.

That alone caused me to write a short note telling you about this glove (again). This glove is now on my must-have list of garden equipment (and that’s a very short list) as being the best in its class.

So don’t hesitate if you see these gloves (no matter the price) they’re good value for the money. Anything that saves my hands that kind of abuse is good in my books – no matter what color they are.

On your recommendation I bought a pair of these gloves. So far I am extremely happy with them, I will let you know how they work in the fall and winter when I do more of the heavy garden work but so far they have stood up to mesquite, tumbleweeds and pampas grass.
I purchased the gloves at the online West County store (great to deal with) as there are no shops in my area that carry the gloves.
