Home Depot Phases Out Garden Chemicals in Canada

I never thought I’d say this but good for Home Depot. (I haven’t heard any thunder and the roof is still up where it belongs).
Home Depot announced
that it will voluntarily stop selling traditional pesticides and herbicides in its stores across Canada by the end of 2008 and will increase its selection of environmentally friendly alternatives.
This is ahead of schedule for the Ontario ban that is supposed to take place in 2009. And well ahead of other provinces who have not yet put bans or timetables in place.
Damn, this might mean I have to actually get an orange hat.
Mind you, that’s two now for HD. They also sponsor Tony - my secret red-neck passion - Stewart in Nascar.

I knew I liked you! I love Nascar! My favorite is Carl Edwards. As soon as I get home from church on Sudays, I turn on the Speed Channel and watch all the pre-pre-race shows and then the race. I don’t make any plans for Sudays so I can watch the race. I even postpone my gardening until after.

Ah say what Diane? - Carl Edwards?? Guy’s too nice. If you gotta drive a car at 200mph, then you can’t shave, have to have a temper, have a nickname like “Smoke” and wear cool shades.
If my Spitfire would go faster than 60mph, I might just try that look myself. However, the old Brit car just isn’t up for it.
But Carl Edwards? C’mon.
